Mak Abdelhai
Mak is an Egyptian Canadian filmmaker.
His short film ASLEEP won “Best Of The Festival” at the Rochester 60th International Film Festival (NY, 2018) and screened at New West Film Festival (2019), The Bahamas (2017) and Kansas (2017) International Film Festivals. The Screenplay for the same short was a semi finalist at Nashville 48th Film Festival (2017) screenplay competition.
His feature screenplay SOULS won the Columbine Award at Moondance Film Festival (2007) and The Praxis Fellowship (SFU, 2007).
He is currently in post-production for his latest short film THE PILE (2019).
Mak has a background in Visual Effects which he teaches at The British Columbia Institute of Technology. He also has a Bachelors of Science in Architectural Engineering and a Diploma in 3D Animation. He speaks three languages and in his free time you will find him either running the Seawall or reading.
